Ordering Translations from TextMaster Using Templates

If you have an existing account with TextMaster, you'll be able to use Project Templates when placing translation orders. Templates are reusable sets of order preferences that you create in TextMaster. These preferences include language pairs, quality level, preferred translators, and more.

Note

To have this feature enabled for your account, please contact our support team.

Creating Project Templates

To create a Project Template in TextMaster:

  • In TextMaster, head to the API and Loop page. (You can also get there by hovering over the Lightning icon in the main navigation and clicking on API & Loop.)

  • In the left box, click on Manage my API templates.

  • Click on NEW API TEMPLATE.

  • Give your template a name, add any special instructions you may have, then choose your settings for this template. Note that each template only works with a single language pair, e.g. English (US) to French.

  • Repeat Steps 3 and 4 for every language you plan to translate to.

When creating templates for use with Transifex, you should leave Auto-Launch disabled. Otherwise, your template won't show up in the Order Wizard.

Connecting your TextMaster account to Transifex

Before you can use the templates you've created, you'll need to connect your TextMaster account to Transifex.

  • In the main navigation, click on Organization Settings

  • On the left menu, click on Translation Provider Integrations.

  • Enter your TextMaster Access key and Access secret, then click Save settings. You can find your Access key and secret on the API and Loop page in TextMaster.

Note

Only Organization Admins can place translation orders.

To place a translation order:

  • From the project navigation in the Dashboard, select the project you want to order translations for.

  • Click the Order button in the header. You can also initiate an order from any Order button found throughout other parts of Transifex.

  • In the popup, select which resources you would like to include in your order. Only untranslated strings are sent for translation. You can also add resources from other projects to your order.

  • Choose the languages you want to order translations for by selecting a corresponding template for each language.

  • Review your order. If everything looks good, click Order. Note that the word count and prices are estimates.

Once you submit your order, TextMaster will calculate the final word count and price for your order, taking into account any Translation Memory you may have. After the calculations are done, we'll send you an email with the final word count and price.

Tracking your translation orders

Once you've placed an order, you'll be able to track its progress inside the Orders page, which is accessible from the main navigation. On this page, you also be able to see order details such as price, words, and languages. You can also filter orders by their status.

Missing templates

If a template you've created in TextMaster isn't appearing inside the Transifex order wizard, there are a few things you can check:

  1. Check to make sure the source language of your project matches the source language of your template. If, for example, you're translating from English, your project's source language should either be English (US) or English (UK), not generic English.
  2. Check whether Auto-launch is enabled for that template. If so, go to Extra Settings in the template and disable it.
